Ex-Palmer & Harvey man Darren Goldney is to become the new managing director of the Today’s Group.
Goldney, who will join the business from 13 November 2017, is set to replace John Schofield, who has been acting MD of the buying group for the last two years.
As well as delivered wholesaler Palmer & Harvey, where he was employed most recently as commercial director, Goldney has also worked for suppliers Coca Cola European Partners and Whitworths since graduating from Manchester University in 1992.
Today’s Group chairman Simon Hannah, said: “This is a key appointment for the Group, and Darren will join an already strong team at Today’s Group central office, which has been admirably led for the past two years by John. As per plan, John will now return to the crucial position of finance director, supporting Darren and the team.”
Goldney is married with two daughters and enjoys all sports, but most of all, golf and squash.
