Martin Williams has been appointed chairman of wholesale buying group Confex
A veteran of 33 years at Landmark Wholesale, Williams served as the company’s managing director for 15 years before leaving in December 2016 to set up his own consultancy business.
He also represented Landmark on the council of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors (FWD) and held the position as chairman of the FWD for three years up until his exit.
His consultancy business now works in various roles for the FWD, Inspire Field Marketing and Time Wholesale Services.
Williams said: “I have always admired the work of Nicky and her team in building Confex into such a big buying group, and look forward to helping them drive Confex on to become even bigger and better, enabling their members to thrive and prosper in this dynamic market.”
Confex managing director Nicky White added: “Martin will no doubt help to raise the profile of Confex within wholesale while also being an invaluable asset in helping to mould Confex’s strategy to ensure long-term growth and sustainability for Confex and its wholesale members.”
