Pricecheck has made three key female appointments as the international wholesaler and distributor continues to grow and diversify.
Jane Whitham joins as head of marketing, with the company aiming for a turnover of £200m by 2025. She will oversee the company’s UK and international marketing as it continues to develop partnerships with brand leaders and enters new channels and territories.
Helen Coulthard, a project manager, joins from Bestway Wholesale having previously spent eight years in a variety of operational roles at wholesale giant Palmer and Harvey. Helen will lead a range of key projects at the Sheffield-based business which supports whole-business growth and scalability.
Sales support manager Jessica Ellis brings several years’ sales management experience, leaving Virgin Media Business to take up her newly created role. Jessica will be a key manager in driving growth in a 30-strong direct sales force.
Pricecheck’s joint managing director Debbie Harrison said: “We are investing in the very best people to help drive Pricecheck forward. We are a very people-focused business and have ambitious plans to continue our growth journey.
“Coupled with our continual investment in technology and a bespoke, tailored service for customers and brand owners alike, we are committed to ensuring our partners and customers get the absolute best service,” she added.
Commenting on the news, Women in Wholesale founder Elit Rowland says that the three appointments will add immense value to the company: “The best wholesalers are investing in having the top people to drive their businesses forward. That means having a diversity of talent to bring new ideas and perspectives to the table. Your customer base isn’t 100% male so why would you have an all-male senior leadership team?”
“Debbie delivered a moving talk at our conference last year, she is a great leader and role model, it’s no surprise she was voted one of the best speakers. I hope other businesses follow suit and shout about appointing female leaders the way Pricecheck have. It’s a big year for wholesale, a lot is changing, so if your top team isn’t diverse enough, it could be time to shake things up,” she added.
