Starbucks unveils protein-based RTD range

Starbucks is set to launch a new Protein Drink with Coffee range in the wholesale channel in Chocolate Mocha, Caffe Latte and Caramel Hazelnut flavours.

Available from 13 June, the 330ml bottles each contain a blend of Starbucks Arabica coffee with 20g protein per bottle, low-fat milk and no added sugar.

Adam Hacking, head of beverages at Arla, said: “Our new venture into the protein drinks space brings the delicious Starbucks taste to a high-protein beverage and does just that. We know Starbucks’ consumers are some of protein’s biggest fans – in fact, they buy it 6.1 times per year more frequently than average protein buyers. Now they can enjoy it with the same great taste as our chilled coffee.

The protein category has grown in value from £46m in 2021 to £125m in 2023.
