LWC Drinks has begun to take the legal steps required to stop its agreement to distribute Conor McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout product, following a jury finding the former UFC fighter guilty of sexual assault.
The drinks wholesaler secured the original exclusive on-trade listing for the product in October last year, following an off-trade launch with Asda earlier in 2023. LWC then made it available to the on-trade in 30 Litre Kegs, supported by a range of premium Point of Sale and initial installation offers.

In a statement shared with the MailOnline, LWC says it no longer wants to be ‘associated’ with his stout product: ‘In light of Friday’s civil court ruling against Conor McGregor, We are consulting with our customers to support them in the replacement of Forged draught taps. LWC does not want to be associated with Conor McGregor or Forged Irish Stout’.
This follows the news that JD Wetherspoon, Tesco, Ocado and Asda would also be removing the product from their various on- and off-trade ranges.
