Leading wholesale food distributor, Bidvest 3663, has won a seven-year contract to supply education catering specialist, Hertfordshire Catering Limited (HCL), with frozen foods to complement their existing fresh and grocery products contract.
Lin O’Brien, chief executive of HCL said: “We awarded a further contract to Bidvest 3663 as we have been extremely impressed with its level of engagement and understanding of our business at a time of both opportunity and challenge within the education catering sector… We will also be working together to explore new service delivery solutions to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
Paul Brown, business development controller for the education sector at Bidvest 3663, said: “A key focus for us is to make it easier for HCL to implement the new Universal Infant Free School Meals initiative for September 2014, launched as part of the new School Food Plan. We are working with HCL to help them assess the impact these changes will have on their primary school customers… and will also be supporting both the proposed new School Food Standards that are set to roll out in January 2015 and the new Food Labelling Regulations that come in to play later this year.”
HCL supplies catering services to 392 primary schools and 45 secondary and academies across Hertfordshire and beyond. The added value contract win demonstrates Bidvest 3663’s commitment to helping HCL to stay at the cutting edge of their business, which provides around 11 million meals per year.
