Cornish-based wholesaler Chaffins Foodservice has been bought by Landmark Wholesale member RD Johns Foodservice.
As a result, Chaffins will be leaving the Country Range Group at the end of 2017, and current managing director Stephen Brown is set to retire.
Chaffins was established as WG Chaffin and Co in 1958 by William Chaffin. The company was taken over by the Brown family in 1970, and has been jointly owned by the family ever since.
RD Johns is a Devon-based wholesale business which has been in operation for over 40 years.
Of the move, Coral Rose, managing director of the Country Range Group, said: “Chaffins has been a valued part of the Group for 25 years and while it is sad to see them leave, we wish Stephen all the best in the future. Stephen has been a strong advocate of the Group from day one, so a special thanks goes to him for all his support, and I hope he finds all the happiness he deserves in his retirement.”
