Following a change in working practises as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Confex has made the decision to downsize its office and change to a flexi-working pattern for all members of staff.
The new offices are 15 minutes north of the previous location of Moreton-in-Marsh, with HR & marketing director Jess Douglas explaining that the company adapted very well to working from home. “Efficiency and communication has remained consistent due to the technology we now have available and so management decided we no longer need such a huge office space and would give employees the flexibility to work from home on a more permanent basis.”
Confex welcomes new members as it outlines expansion plans
“At Confex, we have always cared about the environment and from being the first buying group to introduce a Green Wholesaler Award eight years ago to offsetting our carbon footprint from our member conference by planting trees, our downsize in office space adds to our ethos and target of becoming a carbon neutral business. We hope to also go paperless in the not too distant future,” she added.
The company also recently welcomed Brook Street Foodservice as its newest wholesale member, with managing director Tom Gittins welcoming managing director Mark Thomas and his team: “Confex will keep recruiting forward thinking wholesalers who share our collaborative ethos. Confex will continue to lead the way as a progressive and dynamic buying group.”
Thomas added: “We are very excited to be joining Confex. I feel inspired by the plans that Tom and his team have put in place and look forward to being part of the future growth of Confex. I would encourage other progressive wholesalers to check out the Confex offering as with the addition of the Core own brand range they have all the building blocks in place for their Members to thrive post-Covid.”
