AG Parfett & Sons have launched a new Go Local Extra store in Maghull, Liverpool.
After an extensive re-fit, work is now complete on Ranjit and Kiran Singh’s spacious new store – making Singh News the first independent retailer to adopt the Go Local Extra fascia in the area.
To create the space for the new store, Singh News underwent a large scale redevelopment which included extending the original shop into the premises of a former butcher’s shop next door. To bring the plans to life, the Singhs enlisted the help of the Parfetts team who designed a dynamic layout that opened up four times the space and enabled the Singhs to expand their range of products and services.
The impressive new store offers a Post Office counter, a dry cleaning service, lottery, Pay Point and a local delivery service for elderly or disabled customers. Most importantly, it’s proving a big hit with the local community. The Singhs are understandably delighted with their Go Local Extra re-fit; not only do they have a new spacious, immaculately presented store, but business is booming – footfall has increased sharply and turnover doubled. “Working with Parfetts has been excellent. We couldn’t have done it on our own,” says Ranjit, “Our Retail Development Advisor, Steve Miller, has been with us all along offering his expert advice and support.”

We have been trading here since the mid 80s and during that time we have developed some very strong relationships with local retailers. We want to make sure that they are aware of the value we can add to their business, from store planning to weekly promotions.
To recognise the success of retailers in the region, Parfetts are hosting their annual Go Local awards on the 19th May at the stunning Aspire venue in Leeds. The event offers a chance to applaud business excellence amongst the Go Local retailers with awards given in categories including Go Local Extra Store of the Year Grocery and
Go Local Extra Store of the Year Licenced. The following day, 20th May, Parfetts’ biannual Trade Show takes place at Elland Road stadium. The show is a great opportunity for suppliers and Parfetts’ customers to network, with over a hundred suppliers exhibiting and plenty of great deals to be had. Parfetts will also have a Go Local Extra fascia mock up to show retailers how fantastic their own stores could look.
