Harlech Foodservice’s Booker price comparison tool is helping its customers save 14% compared to the wholesale giant.

The price comparison initiative benchmarks Harlech’s 50 best-selling products against the same goods from Booker, with head of purchasing Josie Swift (pictured) claiming the transparency is disrupting the way the wholesale market works.

Every Monday Harlech compares its prices to Booker and publishes all the figures and all the details on its website, with a price comparison check for the week of March 17 showing Harlech customers saving up to an overall 14% on the 50 products.

Swift said: “We have seen what Tesco do with Aldi in comparing prices in the retail sector. Harlech 50 gives a sense of security to customers who will know that when they shop, they will get a good price, there’s no cloak and daggers.

“Everything is so accessible and people just want to know an honest price. This is about helping our customers, making sure they know we appreciate their loyalty and we want things to remain simple for them and they remain excited about what we are going to put out next.”
