JJ Foodservice has witnessed a 78% rise in sales to Thai, Korean and Japanese restaurants over the past 12 months, with accounts connected to the Asian cuisines rising by 28%.
The wholesaler acquired specialist ethnic food wholesaler Gateland Supplies last year and expanded its World Food Asia range after identifying opportunities in the Asian restaurant sector.
However, the wholesaler recently reported a drop in turnover to £249.6m compared £270m last year, with profits at £11.2m for the year ending March 31, 2024.
It put this down to challenging market conditions, with the company remaining focused on long-term growth despite high inflation making it challenging for customers to manage costs.

However, our commitment to exceptional service, high-quality products, and innovation remains a key driver of growth. We invite brands looking to succeed in the evolving restaurant landscape to partner with us,” he added.
