A Cumbria-based foodservice wholesaler has transformed parts of the old mill it occupies into modern offices after outgrowing its previous premises.
Fairway Foodservice member JMP Foodservice expanded its headquarters at Birks Mill, Sedbergh, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, from 72 sq ft to 266 sq ft to cope with increasing employee numbers.
The building now boasts four offices occupied by the accounts team, purchasing staff, transport manager, and directors. The main space is used by telesales and marketing personnel.
The project took 12 months to finish, and JMP’s 40 members of staff worked in portacabins during the renovation, and has now moved into the brighter and more spacious building.
JMP sales director Shaun Atherton said: “As we have grown and recruited more staff, the need for a bigger office became clear and we decided to build on our original base in the Yorkshire countryside.
“The team cannot believe the changes. It has increased morale and there is a huge positive atmosphere around the building.”
He added: “It has been a busy 12 months for JMP Foodservice thanks to client growth. As well as the recruitment and new offices, we invested in two new vehicles and reintroduced our catering exhibition, Caterfest, after a five-year hiatus. We are excited to continue our growth in our revamped premises.”
