Exclusive: LWC hosts first in-person Women’s Network meet-up

LWC Drinks recently hosted its first in-person Women’s Network meet-up, with men and women from LWC’s internal program coming together along with colleagues from across the industry to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The network was set up in 2023 with three aims; inspire, support and develop. Since its creation, it has grown at pace with more than 80 members now taking part in its regular virtual sessions.

Taking place in Manchester, the event started with an introduction from LWC’s managing director, Ebrahim Mukadam, who shared his strong support for the network, his vision for the future and his hopes for the development of a more inclusive industry.

Putting a firm focus on promoting female empowerment and progression within the company, Ebrahim then handed over to the day’s first speaker, best-selling author and founder of The Smart Girl Tribe, Scarlett V Clark who was interviewed by LWC Yorkshire’s wine development manager Flick Wattam.

The afternoon session then came in the form of the ‘Sneaker Speaker’ who led an interactive session on stress management and coping mechanisms. Attendees were given the opportunity to share their current causes of stress and gain a better understanding of how simple changes can make a huge difference to the management and reduction of stress within the workplace.
