C&C Group, the owner of Magners Cider, has bought Matthew Clark and Bibendum from troubled drinks company Conviviality.
With financial support from drinks giant AB Inbev, C&C takes on the two businesses after Conviviality appointed administrators on Wednesday (4 April).
The fee has not been disclosed.
Between them, Matthew Clark and Bibendum supply more than 23,000 pubs and restaurants across the country. The Matthew Clark business has 18 depots across the UK.
Conviviality’s plunge into administration reportedly came about as a result of a failure to raise £135m from an emergency cash call.
