Martin Williams is set to leave Landmark Wholesale after 33 years with the business.
Williams has not yet revealed what his next move will be upon leaving the buying group at the end of 2016. He announced in June that he will also be leaving his role as chairman of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors, although he still remains in that role for the time being.
He has spent the last 14 years as managing director with Landmark, and before that spent five years as trading director.
Williams said: “After 33 great years, I have decided that the time is right of me to step down from my role as MD and leave the business. I am very proud of the group, its members, and my record as MD.
“I would like to thank the Landmark Wholesale board for their support in agreeing an amicable departure with me, which will take place at the end of December.
“I have made many friends in my time at Landmark, and I leave behind some great memories.”
A Landmark spokesperson, said: “Martin has been an instrumental part of our success. We didn’t want him to leave, but we respect his decision. He leaves with our very best wishes for his future career.”
