McClures has become the Country Range Group’s fifth member in as many months with the company’s annual turnover of £27m now adding to the group’s buying power.
Becoming the Group’s 15th member, the Lake District-based business will join in December as it enters its 80th year of business.
McClures is a family-owned business set up by Bill McClure in 1945. Initially selling Morecambe Bay shrimps from a hand cart in Kendal, the business has become one of the leading suppliers to hospitality venues and public caterers across Cumbria and the North of England.

The wholesaler is now headed by Bill’s son Keith and grandsons Ben and Matthew, with a fleet of 40 vehicles, 160 team members, and over 4,000 product lines.
