Martin McColl, the convenience store and newsagent operator, has reached an agreement with Nisa to supply its larger convenience stores. About 49% of total stores (330 out of 670) will see supply switch from Palmer & Harvey to Nisa over the next six months.
The distribution change is part of the company’s expansion strategy and will help to accelerate the rollout of the new McColls format: existing stores are being refitted for a brighter, modern feel and an improved layout and range. All other Martin McColl stores will continue to be supplied by Palmer & Harvey under a new contract.
James Lancaster, chairman and CEO of Martin McColl, said: “Nisa’s emphasis on quality fresh and chilled food, together with its wide range of ambient and chilled own-label products, will enhance our offering to existing customers, attract new customers and significantly grow sales.”
