Vape wholesaler Phoenix 2 Retail has created a disposable vaping solution that is set to be rolled out to more than 200 recycling units this month, followed by a further 5,000 by the end of the year.
According to recent research by the BBC, five million disposable vapes are thrown away every week, a fourfold increase compared to the previous year. Furthermore, the study revealed that only 17% of vapers recycle their vapes properly.

By providing these recycling units, the company is seeking to encourage vapers to dispose of their single-use vapes in an environmentally friendly manner. The company believes that by making recycling units accessible and convenient, more vapers will be willing to recycle their vapes properly. It has also partnered with a registered waste management company to ensure the proper disposal of the collected vapes.
“We aim to reach all 15,000 retailers by the following year, ensuring at least one recycling unit per store. This step is part of our company’s ongoing efforts to tackle the issue of improper vape disposal,” said Chris Kelly, chief executive of Phoenix 2 Retail.
