Women in Wholesale has announced Work Happy as its theme across its events this year, as a response to research from Wellhub, which shows that UK employees value wellbeing over salary.
“Happier employees are more likely to succeed,” says Clare Bocking, WiW Chairperson. “To see greater diversity in leadership, we must provide women with the tools and support they need – not just to be great leaders but to become happier, more confident, and motivated. Happier staff are more productive and successful, making it a win-win for everyone.”

According to Wellhub’s Annual State of Work-Life Wellness Report, 88% of UK employees say wellbeing is more important than salary. “This highlights that happiness at work is becoming a stronger motivator than salary, underlining the importance of building teams that feel valued and engaged,” Clare adds.
WiW will explore key topics in 2025, shaped by member input, including strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, stakeholder management, assertiveness, boundary setting, and transitioning into leadership. These topics will be featured at WiW’s Speed Mentoring event on May 2, 2025, at Convene, Bishopsgate, as well as at online meetups throughout the year.
